Asyla Ten Holts is a multidisciplinary artist whose four-decade journey spans the Caribbean, Europe, and the USA. Her work explores nature, social issues, and cultural identity, evolving from traditional landscapes to surrealistic expressions. Asyla’s art reflects her personal resilience, her family's migration history, and her commitment to community healing and transformation.
Her practice includes fine art, textile batik, creative writing, and performance art. She has exhibited in Bonaire, Curacao, Netherlands and beyond, engaging with diverse communities and addressing the complexities of post-colonial identity.
