Flamingo Sidewalk Inlays (1987 - Present. Public Art Installation)

Medium: Hand-crafted coral stone and concrete Location: Kaya Grandi, Kralendijk, Bonaire (Commissioned by the Government of Bonaire) In 1987, I created 22 coral stone flamingo inlays along the central walkways of Kralendijk, embedding native iconography directly into Bonaire's public landscape. In 2017, my contribution was commemorated with a copper plaque near the Tourism Office (crafted by the late artist Figaroa). The site-specific work remains an enduring symbol of island identity, with key sections preserved through community advocacy in 2023.'
